PC to Mac: 2 Year Review

By

I have used PC's all of my life up until 2 years ago. I had a HP Pavilion ZD7000 which was a beast of a laptop if you could call it that. Even though it had a 17' inch screen, which was good for movies, it was impractical and weighed around 8 lbs. The overall battery life was not that great, nor the performance of the machine over time. The windows XP system never had any problems itself, but the constant spyware, malware, pop ups, and other harmful bugs made it run so slow. I bought anti-virus software and had the computer cleaned out many times but it all did not work and returned to the same slow computer. My roommate at the time had a 13' black MacBook and after 4 years of struggling with the HP the fans finally gave out. I started to use his Macbook when I needed to use the computer and then I realized how easy and simple Macs are to operate. I ended up purchasing a 13' MacBook with a 2.2 Ghz Processor and 2GB of RAM with a 120GB HD. I strongly recommend any Mac with at least 2GB of RAM because 1GB is not enough IMO.

For the past 2 years my MacBook has been perfect. I have had no problems and everything works perfectly. Make sure to keep your MacBook plugged in as much as you can to sustain the amazing 4-5 hour battery life because on mine now I have 211 cycles with 97% health remaining (thanks to coconut battery). If you are not sure on whether your will be able to learn how to use a Mac please do not worry. It has been so easy and the decision has saved a lot of effort and aggregation from all the freezing and crashing from PCs.
